Marble blocks selection

The initial process stage is an accurate selection of first choice material that is used to manufacture our products. This is a very important stage because the wrong material could compromise the final result. To get the best we choose the blocks just extracted from the quarries.

Marble blocks Transport

Once the raw material is chosen the blocks are freight into special trucks for marble transport. Down the quarry it is necessary to weight the block in order to pay a duty, then it is possible to truck it to the workshop to cut it.

The Cut

A special machinery called “block-cutter” or “mono-bladed” cuts the marble blocks. It’s important to pay attention to the position of the block in order to cut the marble with the grain. Then we saw the piece of marble to leave out parts with spots and dark veins, naturally present in this material. Once the size is found we realize the little cube from which we will get the vase.

Rough-hew the marble

We rough-hew the piece by hand and leave off the marble exceeding to get the articles we need. This manufacturing is done with special diamond tools on the workbench. Those are simple machineries but you have to keep in mind in which machinery they will be used. The diamond cuts just at a certain speed that has to be measured on the diamond surface and not on the machinery axle.

Shaping

The shaper receives the rough-hewn vase and begins to draw on it the model with a pencil. Afterward, with the help of a series of diamond tools chosen depending on the shape to realize, he shapes our vase. Sometimes particular manufacturing need CNC machineries. We cannot have the final product, but the machinery helps the man with the heavy work.

Polishing

In this step the object gains his final look. Polishing means finishing the marble surface in order to make it reflect the light. Always by hand we rub up the surface with different sandpapers to obtain a translucent object. The last part consists in brushing with soft discs and a special pastry to make the vase shiny

Packing and warehouse

We check the quality of our works, confection them in paper boxes and store them. The goods in warehouse give us the opportunity to satisfy our clients in a very short time.
